I do dumb stuff instead of figuring out that there must be a right tool and someone must make it :D

This fence was maybe 6 horizontals with vertical ties all sold in a roll. Might be called hog fence too, I can't remember. The idea was to keep all the horizontal wires the same tightness without buying however many wire grips would be needed. So I clamped a couple 2x4's together, pinching the fence and proceeded to pull that tight against the truck using a come along. What broke the clamp was hooking the winch to it and pulling.

I'm not sure anyone I know has the proper tools for fencing, a lot of them seem to just patch stuff together out of what's at hand. One day I'll buy some wire grips, those look pretty indespensible, and save wear and tear on my woodworking stuff :D

Here's the right way to grip wire... not even as pricey as a clamp... ah hindsight...
