>The Grizzly is your best bet. I've been an advocate of horizontal slot mortisers for over 25 years and have used and researched the subject extensively. The only thing cheaper is FWW #141 issue of the one made using drawer slides which actually does work well. Other models will cost $1,000 and up. Used machines are very scarce.
