Subject:
Acquiring turnable wood

Christian Wright
Hello all,

First time visitor and first time poster. I live in St George (SW Utah). Does anyone know how/where to acquire wood for turning wood bowls/whatnot? I've ordered bowl blanks online in the past but the shipping is as much as the wood.

The only large (10" - 16") wood in the local area is standing dead pine from beetle kill and cottonwood.

Any info would be helpful. Also, if I've posted in the wrong area/chatroom, I apologize.

Thanks,

Christian
