As we grow old some of us conclude that our wisdom deserves special consideration. Perhaps in some circumstances it applies, like in workplaces, academia or religious settings. In most every day settings it's pretty rude to tell others what to do. That open letter was pretty condescending. David's intention had not been to position himself or act as the next sensei, which is the advise the open letter was giving.

If David's posts were not welcome, he should have been contacted directly, he's not delicate, I told him at least once he was too verbose and hard to follow in personal communications. Nevertheless, some of his posts are orders of magnitude more interesting than build posts.
