Was this ever reduced to something like: "I used to have to do a touch-up every 30 minutes, now I only have to do one every 90 minutes."

In this example, this would save me two five minutes honings (one honing instead of three) for a total of ten minutes in time saved in one day, assuming that the planing part of the workday was about an hour and a half - in this hypothetical day.

Can somebody put it in those terms for me?
