Paper weight for checking edges

Steve D, CT
You mention 110 lb. card stock for checking sharpness. I use receipt paper and I find that if the edge isn't sharp the paper just folds over. Once sharp enough I can get little slivers of paper peeling off the edge.

At the risk of a hijack, would lighter or heavier papers be a better test of sharpness?
