.completely kill crisp continuous lines. What struck me about the perfectly made high boy (it's a different thing to see it in person where you can get as close as you want and still be wowed) is how crisp all of the lines were on the carvings. They were miles beyond the interruption that a grain line in oak would cause when it crossed one of those lines.

I'm guessing that mahogany was all old growth cuban mahogany in the furniture you're talking about, too.
