I would not expect Elliot to be familiar with the work that goes on in this organization dedicated to American Period Furniture, but I would expect you to be. How much oak furniture have you seen in the SAPFM Gallery section or at meetings?

It may be a sloppy definition but the name American Period Furniture often implies furniture made before machines were widely employed in manufacturing furniture, 1850'ish.

The nit picking obscured my point. Oak is an unfavorable wood to be using for one's first dovetail.
