baseball and dovetails

Baseball: You hit the ball, you catch the ball, you throw the ball!

Dovetails: You cut he wood, you chop the wood, you pair the wood!

So why am I having do much trouble?

Paul Sellers does dovetails in oak. No problem.

Eliot tries to make dovetails in oak. Big problem.

The Moxon did its job for the cutting, and I'm sure it would do so for the pairing.

But my problem, in oak anyway, is chopping the tails. About half an hour to get halfway through half of one of them. Not fun yet. Can anyone help?
