I would guess (from laziness) that a leg vise and a hold fast for wide stuff (just a leg vise for the rest) would be the fastest way to go with the sawing. Of just about everything (tenons, dovetails, etc).

A partial turn of a handle lets everything in and out and the same plus a whack of a hold fast does the job for wider stuff that's not obnoxiously long and too tall for the leg vise.
