Reamers (rimers) are mentioned by Peter Nicholson in 1812 in his description of woodworking tools. He does not mention "Moxon vises", even though he had actually read Jopseph Moxon's work and had worked as a journeyman cabinetmaker in London. What does that tell you?

Reamers (rounders) also show up in the Sheffield list.

You could make a reamer from an old file. A four sided reamer is common. Or you could just use the tang of the chisel you are to handle.
