The legs,stretchers,arm,crests spindles are all ash. I dropped a tree and I'm using up all the useful wood I can get out of it. Red oak would be my second choice for these parts. The seat is white pine as is the paddle and the drawer sides. The drawer fronts are walnut. You can maybe see the under seat drawer. I rive and shape spindles and rails with drawknife and spokeshave. Legs and stretchers are turned from green riven blanks. I will paint it with milk paint. Not sure about color yet but I will cover that with oil/varnish wipe-on finish.
