The stone in the picture is not all white, it has some dark specs, but that may be just cosmetic. They're also brand new and don't have the color resulting from oil and swarf, like in the picture below. We'll see how they turn out.
By the way, just by coincidence, found out there were old tools for sale near my office. I went to take a look and walked away with four translucent Arkansas stones and a Stanley 12 1/2 with a spare Rosewood sole. I left several man made stones and many machinist stones (slip stones, conical, rectangular), translucent and Lilly Whites.
