I couldn't take the ribbing. I've ordered a couple of 3/16ths bars of 52100 and will hammer the taper into a couple of chisels and hope for the best. Cast and rolled bars may be better for chisels if they have a grain direction. Knives would run afoul of it, hopefully that's why the knives benefit from so much more work.
