These things seem expensive. Date and price comparison to follow

1790 Turkey stone L:3:9, Six chisels and two gouges L :4: (English money denominations ) stone = 6 chisels and two gouges, or 40% cost of two smoothing and one jack plane

1797 Turkey stone $0.50, 10 molding planes $1.50, 1 hand saw $1.50

1794 Turkey stone L:5:0 Two smoothers and a jack L:5:0, plow and a fillister :6:3

mention of Turkey stones in inventories absent early into 1800's. In fact sharpening stones are not mentioned in shop inventories after early 1800's. Did they become too inexpensive to show up?
