There’s a YouTube video (on lie-Nielsen site) of Follansbee using the central ‘v’ method. I assume that’s his usual method, yes? That, to me, creates a whole different dynamic. He’s constantly flipping the chisel to create the v shape and the angle he’s using for the bevel to the wood becomes more steep (more up and down) as he moves towards the ends of the mortise.
Hopefully this doesn’t muddle the conversation but thought it might be helpful to poin5 out the difference in method.
