Subject:
Wide boards beside poplar and pine?

Tony Wilkins
Besides dimensional Softwood lumber and poplar, are there any other woods likely to be found in widths approaching 13”?

I have not ever tried glueing up a panel anywhere near 4’ long. How much harder is it to get a good glueing edge on a board that long? If I can’t find 13” wide boards, I think it should be fairly easy to find boards 6.5 to 7” I. A good, inexpensive wood, no?
