Deficiency easily overcomeResponse To:
Testing stropping at a high angle *PIC* () Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
Deficiency being defined as many stropping strokes to accomplish the desired profile.
Everyone is going to be doing some refining step before the strop. A few, for me it was about 5, rolling pull strokes on this final media accomplished what many more on the strop would accomplish. As I recall I was about 5 on the "stone" and 5 on the strop to achieve a robust edge, the one I made the 5 drawers with without edge damage.
You make a key point about "overdoing it", namely it is unlikely overdoing it will lead to an undesirable result that will be annoying to recover from. This fact should comfort the beginner.
