I was not the one to bring up old history, Steve. Reread the opening post in this thread. The whole post was revisionist history. Perhaps it was designed to disguise the fact that Derek Cohen was on the wrong side of history. There were not a lot of people promoting heavy planes the way Derek was. It was not de rigueur.
There are about two thousand woodworking shops within 20 miles of my shop. And I'm not talking about retirees and hobbyists. I have never seen an infill plane in a professional shop, let alone one of the monsters like Derrick is talking about. One is more likely to see a #4 than a #4 1/2, more likely to see a standard Bailey than a Bedrock.
