I learned the same - that it's worth taking time to decode it - it took me a while to figure it out. I call George fairly often, his advice is generally pretty plain - but it will always be worth figuring out.
I also have no solution as it's not really the case that if you take the time to offer information on a forum on a regular basis that anyone will respond (more likely to get responses from detractors). no guarantee that helpful advice won't lead to the "every method is equally as good" brigade showing up and getting a thread torched.
I see why derek makes a template post and posts it in a whole bunch of places at once - it would hardly be worth the time to organize things as he does otherwise and even then, it takes someone who wants to do that regardless of the outcome.
