What is lacking here is judgement. The idea that a piece of glass with 150 square inches is going to show significant wear when being lapped with a stone that has 12 square inches at most (and starts out with less than 4 square inches). The idea that we cannot distribute the wear with some degree of evenness. The idea that a Washita stone might need to be abraded often enough to worry about efficiency in using cheap grit. And on and on. I am having trouble imagining that you have used a Washita stone often enough to have experience here.

Chuck had grit, he had glass, what could be simpler?
