More on topic:
Sycamore and London Plain Tree both turn well, so would assume it also planes easily. Fairly hard and not brittle. I nabbed some curbside LPT, but none of those pieces were applicable for furniture, maybe boxes. I cut it up for turning blanks. The quartered figure of LPT is very similar to sycamore, just not as spectacular. All my blanks moved, but none cracked.
