The Xerox Corporation took a lesson from Kleenex and spent a lot of time and money to rescue their trade name from, becoming a generic term. They were successful; people now generally use the term "photocopy" instead of "Xerox" to describe both the process and the physical copy. Kimberly-Clark wasn't so diligent. Their "Kleenex" brand has become the generic term for facial tissues.
