I also didn't find those settings to be outside my experience. In nasty QS beech with reversing grain, .001 shavings with the cap set as close as I can get it is not out of the question. On the other hand, if the grain is easy, my default setting is more like .010 and the shavings could be anywhere from 1 to 10 thousandths. So the range is pretty wide.

Agree on PS as well…I've seen that post as well. It also seems like there's no understanding of effective cutting angle in his discussion of BU planes.

On another note, It must be pretty galling to put a ton of work into researching and posting the results here, and then have someone come in and complain about it--someone who doesn't make any contributions of their own, I might add. Does this crap come from YouTube? I can't imagine feeling so entitled that I would complain about the quality of free content, provided by someone who isn't getting paid. Whatever.
