Re: V11 vs. O1 end grain - different results

Who made the O1 blade and what was the final bevel? I think hardness is probably important here.

David, as I mentioned, I compared Clifton O1 (the older, hammered iron), LN A2, and PM-V11. I tried 25 degrees .. ugh! Not good. 30 degrees is the ideal for bevel down. (25 degree bevel up still blows these away).

Hardness was not a factor here since the blades were those that were available for purpose. The hardness just becomes an academic issue since the average user cannot manipulate this.
