Who made the O1 blade and what was the final bevel? I think hardness is probably important here.

Bill can test my iron now if he's willing, I'm done testing. I'd suspect It's 62 hardness.

I had a vintage (well, have) butcher iron in a wooden push me pull you smoother and it will not take many thinner end grain shavings in a shooting board. It's a pain to reset, so it is set to take a thick shaving and now that I have shootenstein, it goes unused.
