Nice color on the wood..

I have a soft spot for walnut, though I never use it. As a child, my parents drummed into me repeatedly that furniture should have dovetails and it should be made of cherry or walnut, but walnut to them is surely higher end.

They have nothing made of mahogany and aren't actually educated about furniture, so I'm not sure where they got their ideas. I know that they cannot tell the difference between a piece made entirely by hand and some of the early machine work where columns, etc, were littered with coves because someone had figured out how to quickly do things with a machine that used to take more skill by hand.

But walnut still appeals to me (all of their furniture is stained so that it stays dark).
