Crystolon for 3v after grinding

Hi David,

That 1200g plate is really brash for an iron ground to virgin steel, even 3V. The flat that was on that iron when you received it was off very quick work with an 8000g plate. Now, silicon carbide will easily cut 3V, cause that’s what is on my Tormek, so you might try crystolon on all your alloy irons if you want to eliminate the 1200g plate. Or use Derek’s idea.
