Finish quality on moldings -
I remember a quick sanding pass with 220 grit prior to shellac.

Too heavy cut and the shaving jammed.

A proper pass made a distinct zipping sound, ejecting a long curled shaving.

It's important to note that MB's approach does far more than half the cutting with a rabbet plane - hollows and rounds register on the flats a rabbet leaves.
