Stanley #55 Chest ()

Hello Ray,

Although I don't have a Stanley 55, I once owned a Record 405, a very similar beast. I bought it new around 1978 or so. Came with all the usual cutters (minus the nosing shoes and related cutters) in a nicely fitted wooden box. The cutters were in blue plastic sleeves. I did a quick check on the web and found the link for a Record Planes site at:

https://www.record-planes.com/record-no-405-multi-plane/

If you scroll down the page, past the eBay ads, you can find a bunch of images of the Record 405 in its fitted box. Mine looked just like the very last of the images. Might give you some ideas if you can't locate any Stanley 55 box images.

Hope this helped,

John
