I was mostly splitting too, after sawing the rounds off with a chainsaw. I do keep a couple felling/limbing axes around though, as its easier to have one in the truck for clearing the road than it is a saw - no gas fumes in the cab that way. Its pretty rare that we need to clear the road out here, but it's happened a couple times.

Hand splitting firewood is something I actually enjoy a lot, its very good exercise and a fun skill to practice.
