The quarry in New Hampshire yielded scythe stones. I think they were fine sandstone. Timothy Noyes started the trade in 1821; Pike married his widow. The Pike company did not trade in Arkansas or Washita stones until 1893.

I would try and find the site of the old factory; there are probably rejects all over the place.

Washita stones would not be very good for scythes, and I have never seen one shaped for a scythe.
