boiling water or a bath of water with simple green in it and a good long soak (the water doesn't have to be hot, just relatively concentrated with simple green).

The latter is probably a better idea.

You can also abrade it off with a diamond hone, but if you don't like a brisk stone, then that's not a great idea. If your diamond hone is relatively fine, it might not do a good enough job, anyway (just leaving a graded surface).

You can also just use the stone with liberal fresh oil and the oil that is there will loosen over time.
