Howard, the titanium is lighter and stiffer for the size. So the size one gets is important. Most consider the 5" model to be ideal, however I have argued for a long time that all you need for dovetails is the 3" aluminium version. Used at 45 degrees, you have a 2" depth of cut, and this is more than you need for dovetails. The shallower frame is lighter and stiffer than the 5" frame, adds the stiffness of a titanium 5", and you safe a bunch of money.
