Wiley, I got a lot of use out of the Lee Valley standard shave, and also the Lee Valley low angle shave, which I found was pretty easy to hold with one hand (though you have to be careful working with the low angle, I had some close calls). I also used Derek's suggestion of a modified plane blade, though I found it much slower to work with but OK for some final scraping.

Just thinking about it now, it would have been nice to be able to clamp the table to the floor just to hold things in place, but I don't know how you would do that short of putting a few bolts into the concrete.
