I still am having trouble imagining a Domino repair. Let us say you have a frame and panel door that you need to take apart. Suppose it has a nice moulding around the panel that is coped at the corners. You are going to saw the stiles and rails apart and it is not going to affect the appearance, or the overall size of the door or the fitting of the coped joints? It sounds like it might be a lot of work to make it presentable again. And you have to make a bunch of mortises for the new dominos.

With a mortise and tenon joint, we take it apart and put it back together again with no loss of material.
