Pegging tenons ()

In 18th century work we see through tenons, either pinned, wedged, or just glued. We also see blind tenons, both pinned and not. The joints with wedges or pins can be glued or not. Here in Pennsylvania, there are often through tenons in the finest furniture.

I have disassembled all of these types of mortise and tenon joints for restoration work. I can't imagine taking apart a Domino joint; I think people would throw it away rather than try to repair. The use of any glue other than hide glue also greatly discourages repair.
