I think at 42 degrees, it'll cut around 40 effective. Since I'll be rolling the iron rather than turning the whole bed (to get the skew), I'll be giving up a couple of degrees of clearance - probably only one or two, i'm not inclined to figure it out at this point, just to know that I'm giving up one or two.

So I'm guessing a little bit, but I think a 15 or 20 degree skew will have me around 40 degrees effective pitch meeting the wood and clearance will suffer a little bit of the same fate.
