I agree with Jack, the shallower angle locks in a bit tighter. Might theoretically keep the joint from loosening as much as the wider angle.

In theory, a shallower angle would also cut more quickly. In practice, I would guess the LV would be a more aggressive cutter than the scraping cut.

Probably doesn't make any difference though which you choose. Probably would be a fun project to make one from a sawblade J. Alexander style.
