Subject:
through mortise, drawboring advide *PIC*

Gary B.
I've got 10 or so saws in need of filing. So I've decided to take the time and build a proper saw vice/ saw chocks.

The through mortises shown in the picture are about 3-5/8" x 2-1/2" (my first ever by hand). With mallet taps, the shoulder line doesn't come together as tight as I'd like. I had planned on simply gluing and clamping, but It will be tough to pull it together with clamps with the tenon sticking out the other end.

I've never draw bored before, but the process seems straightforward. If I do drawbore, what size pins are recommended? How many for this size? Where to place them?

Thanks :-)
