I sharpen kitchen knives, butcher knives, hunting knives and the like, as a courtesy to the neighbors. I have done several ATS-34 knives. The steel is much crisper than other stainless steels, not nearly so gummy on the stone. I use older carbon knives for myself, but ATS-34 is not horrible like other high chrome steels.
