I can't remember where they started on stu's site. Both of mine predate stu being in business (alex gilmore carried them way back when for about $110 with a base).

For no good reason, I have two 400, but like them better worn as they are because they don't leave deep grooves in a finishing stone (think japanese barber hones).

I'd go check a yahoo japan auction, but I'm sure the price would be similar to stu's, plus you have to pay shipping twice (once inside the country and again to get an ordered item to the united states).
