If you've got the time, I would really love to know the height of the wear in a couple of those CW planes. And if you've got any vintage single irons, I would love to know how they compare on that dimension.

I'm amused that I told John that the wear is 15-20° higher than the bed, and yours is 17.5°, splitting the difference perfectly. It's also interesting that the wear is both 17.5 above the bed, and 17.5 off of vertical, an interesting coincidence (though of no consequence, since it's an arbitrary result of the bed angle).
