I don't want to die on any hills here either! :D But just FYI, the positive/negative thing is pretty standard over a number of domains--lathe tools, circular saws, and straight saws. I first learned the distinction in the machine shop, before I worked any wood. Positive always means more aggressive. Hopefully not passive aggressive. ;)
