Hi all,
I don't know where the positive/negative convention is defined, but I have been understanding it to be that,
Positive rake = relaxed
Negative rake = aggressive or hooked
Well, this isn't the hill I want to die on, so whatever the group decides is fine. However, my post elsewhere on this page about the rake observed on Japanese rip saws is intended to say that they are aggressively raked. Leaning into the work.
Thank you. Over and out.
