Knew Concepts saw *PIC*

Jack Guzman from Maine
I just recently took on a project where I had to build six drawers, two of them 10" tall. That was alot of dovetails. When I cut out my tails,I make all my vertical cuts(dovetail sides) then go back and cut just above the baseline with a jewelers saw to remove the waste. For years I have been using a Trojan-50 jewelers saw. It is the only one I could find that allowed turning the blade so the back of the saw wouldn't get in the way of the cut. I find a coping saw to be too crude for this job.

After I finished I got to thinking about these newfangled saws made by Knew Concepts. I wondered if they made a smaller, jewelers saw type. So I checked their website and they had just what I was looking for. 3" Mk IV Heavy Duty Hand Saw with Cam Lever Tension and Swivel Blade Clamps is what they call it. It does everything my current saw does but way better. I got it today and made some practice cuts in hard maple. I can tell this going to be a long and happy relationship. Nice, nice tool.---Jack
