Thanks Clint, beautiful work and thanks for engaging the subject. I feel very similarly that hidden joinery is often more complicated to make. The opposing view had be presented to me on another forum and both of those same examples immediately came to mind. Overall I feel that through cut joinery, while easier to make, is more challenging to cut cleanly since any and all errors are revealed. The simple through cut dovetail joint is both very easy and quite challenging as the joiner begins to further examine how accurately the work is made.
