a few years ago, was to match the work of an adequate 18th century joiner in both quality and speed.
The goal of matching their speed put limits on the quality of his work.
In examining actual 18th century work he found the quality of 18th century work was at least in the ballpark of what he could do.
Everyone gets to choose their goal, but given his goal he uncovered a lot of stuff.
