They came in an ancient Nicholson box. Who knows how long they have been in inventory. I took some test cuts and nearly got test cuts. It became apparent why it is recommended to use a handle....and I am thinking gloves. Never had a file this sharp. Long shavings peeled off a test piece of ash in what seemed to be faster material removal than a spoke shave. The surface left behind instead of being scratchy and rough like with a rasp was relatively smooth, and certainly easily smoothed to a finished surface. Where have these been hiding all my woodworking days? Must get a smaller half round version.
