.... the quarter grain in this wood is not like any I had seen before in Cherry. I suppose it has something to do with growth outside its comfort zone. It took a bit of self convincing to conclude cherry. Never-the-less, it had other attributes that indicated cherry. It is an exceptionally pretty piece of wood, not fully revealed by the picture.
